Well done Wajo! First MQKI brings peace messages to the world from Islamic boarding schools

WAJO, INDONESIA--The event doesn't end yet. Hosting 1st Global Contest on Reading Classical Islamic Texts (Musabaqah Qiraatil Kutub Internasional or MQKI I), Wajo Regency is making history.
Holding First MQKI ever, as well as Eighth National Contest on Reading Classical Islamic Texts (Musabaqah Qiraatil Kutub Nasional or MQKN VIII), Wajo welcomes and serves nine Southeast Asian participants.
Malaysians, Singaporeans, Bruneians, Thais, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Filipinos, Burmese, Timorese, and Indonesians Islamic boarding schools' pupils and students are competing in severals MQKI events. In Indonesia, Islamic boarding school is called Pesantren.
In MQKN, so does in MQKI, 34 provincial teams are gathering in 5 venues (Macanang As'adiyah's Islamic Boarding School, Lapongkoda As'adiyah's Islamic Borading School, Ma'had Aly As'adiyah's Campus, Sengkang's Merdeka Square, as well as Sengkang's Ummul Qurraa Grand Mosque). They are situated in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
These Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs events are taking place in As'adiyah Islamic Boarding School, the oldest and the biggest one in Eastern Indonesia.
National figures, ulemas, Islamic scholars, and Islamic boarding school person in charges attend the events and together enliven this international-level activity, As'adiyah Pusat Facebook official account wrote.
With the spirit of “From Pesantren to the World,” let us make MQKI 2025 a moment to care for the environment, strengthen brotherhood, and spread peace through the rich heritage of the turats manuscripts. As'adiyah Pusat continued.
